I hope you've all had a wonderful Christmas with friends and family. I know a few soldiers who haven't, and so for me, I feel lucky that I was in a safe place with a warm fire and people I love. Good news for soldiers' families that they'll start coming home from Afghanistan in 2013! It's been a long time…
I finished the Some Kind Of Trouble World Tour last February, and since then I've done… absolutely nothing! I would tell you it's been a huge inspiration, but standing in the same corner of a nightclub for 6 months listening to electronic music from which I couldn't tell the difference between one track and the next has it's limitations, except to leave me with a constant ringing in my ears. I'm told it was fun. I just can't remember much of it.
I'm now back in the office in London, New York and Los Angeles doing something I love - writing songs! It's too early to tell you much more, other than that I'm really enjoying it. I thought maybe after three albums, I would have had enough, but things seem different now. Maybe all that time off did help after all?
Either way, I'm just writing to say hello, and that I'm back in, and looking forward to telling you more about what's going on my end. I hope you've all been well, productive, and smiling. More than anything, I wish you and your loved ones a very Happy New Year!
